Game Peak City is back for its fourth season, and this year as Commish, I decided to share some of my current projected rankings based on our Game Peak Mode scoring format and based on our first attempt at calculating custom player rankings after the 2023-24 season, which you can view here. Keep in mind, my first year of projections may end up looking like hogwash if we decide to further fine-tune how our rankings are calculated.
Although GPC is considered a “points league”, our rankings differ slightly from standard points formats because of HOW our format utilizes the player scores from game to game. Higher ceiling players are usually valued more, and higher floor players might be valued less, since consistency and totals aren’t as relevant. Our rankings reflect this.
Last season, our leader at the top ended up being Luka Dončić, however Joel Embiid was a top player during the months that he was on the court. Even though Embiid averaged a league-high 29.07 fantasy points on a per-game basis, missing almost two full months dropped his overall value ranking down to seventh place. Assuming that doesn’t happen again, it’s super tight at the top for 2024-25. I still have Luka taking the number one spot with Embiid a very close second, assuming he stays on the court enough this coming season.
Nikola Jokić might slide just a bit this year only because I anticipate his per-game ceiling to decrease a little, although he’ll still remain a top 5 performer.
Below is the full top 100 list as of right now, along with each player’s previous ranking at the end of last season. Some of the most notable changes are Ja Morant and LaMelo Ball moving up into the top 30, and Zach LaVine almost cracking the top 50. All three of them missed so much time on the court last year that they fell out of the top 100. Here’s to seeing if they can get back to normal games played.
Some other projected high risers near the top are Victor Wembanyama, who finished at #23 his rookie season. We all know a top 10 finish is a strong possibility moving forward for him. Trae Young should also make an appearance in the top 20 after playing only 54 games last year.

Falling out of the top 100 from last season are seven players: Donte DiVincenzo, Grayson Allen, Klay Thompson, Caris LeVert, Clint Capela, Mike Conley Jr, and Jrue Holiday. All of these players ranked anywhere from #76 to #99 last year, and all of them may take a slide, some with new environments but also with the anticipated healthy return of players I mentioned above.
Four other honorable mentions that didn’t quite make the cut: Tyler Herro (#105), Trey Murphy (#107), Malcolm Brogdon (#108), and Dennis Schröder (#109).
